  About us Opal Caravan Park owner, Mark Walsh has more than 16 years’ experience in the retail sector, but has never taken on a project this big before! Mark relocated to Lighting Ridge from Toowoomba after visiting many times and identifying the need for another accommodation facility in the town. He saw it as a great opportunity, particularly when he witnessed droves of caravans leaving town during the peak season because they could not find accommodation. In designing the park, Mark has drawn on his own personal experience of camping and caravanning and has added many features that he believes will make his guests’ stay even more enjoyable. “I want people to have the WOW factor in the park, to enjoy themselves so much that they have to come back,” he said. “To ensure this, we have added little features in like having large showers with doors on them, so your clothes don’t get wet! And building a large fire pit so people can gather around it in the evening enjoying their new friends company. “It is the little things that make a difference so we have tried to pay attention to detail,” he said. Mark is pleased to call Lightning Ridge home and is proud of the park he has created for you – and is looking forward to welcoming you to the Opal Caravan Park soon.
