Cholent (Pronounced Shalet)
Similar to a Casserole, Cholent is prepared in advance of the Sabbeth and
then kept warm.
Tzimmes
Mainly had around Septmeber or October in the Jewish New Year in the Hebrew
Calander.
A sweet dish of meat and vegetables (mainly carrots).
Represents a wish for a Sweet and Happy New Year.
Gefilte Fish (A typical Sabbeth
meal)
First course of the evening meal
The fish is filled or "stuffed" with pulped fish flesh and grated
vegetabes. It is then stewed, chilled in its own jelly juice, and served.
Chola (Special Sabbeth Bread)
White dough brushed with beaten egg, sprinkled with poppyseeds and baked
until crisp and golden.
