Tomato
Soup Cake Recipe
With cream cheese topping. Tomato soup,
butter, egg, sugar, cloves, nutmeg, self-raising flour, bi-carb soda.
Ingredients
1 can tomato soup
½ cup butter or margarine
1 egg
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup raisins
1½ cups self raising flour
1 teaspoon bi-carb in hot water (enought to dissolve soda)
Method
Sift dry ingredients into a bowl. Add sugar and
raisins. Melt butter and add beaten egg, soup and bi-carb soda. Add this
to dry ingredients. Do not over-beat. Bake in a moderate oven for 45 minutes.
Cream Cheese Topping
Ingredients
¼ cup margarine or butter
2 cups icing sugar (sifted)
¼ cup walnuts (chopped)
1 teaspoon vanilla
125gm cream cheese
Method
Cream cheese and butter together, add icing sugar
and beat until light and fluffy, add vanilla, fold walnuts into icing
and sprinkle on top.
